Screening Assistance

Greater Birmingham Area

Through funding from the Joseph S. Bruno Foundation and Daniel Foundation of Alabama, and a partnership with the UAB Lynne Cohen Preventive Care Program for Prevention of Women’s Cancers, financial assistance is available for women under 40 who are at high risk for breast cancer and meet program eligibility requirements. For more information, contact the UAB High Risk Breast Clinic at 205.934.5778.

Transportation Assistance

Greater Birmingham Area

Transportation assistance – in the form of gas cards – is available, while supplies last, to any woman who needs assistance paying for transportation costs associated with attending a breast health screening or diagnostic appointment, or is in active treatment for breast cancer at a Greater Birmingham area hospital.

Komen North Central Alabama Black Belt Counties

Transportation assistance – in the form of $25 gas cards or transportation via shuttle service – is available, while supplies last, to any woman residing in Greene, Hale, Perry, or Sumter County who needs assistance paying for transportation costs associated with attending a breast health screening or diagnostic appointment.
