2017 Worship in Pink Weekend

September 30-October 1, 2017

Registration is now open, reserve your kit here!

Worship in Pink (WIP) Weekend is a great opportunity for churches, mosques, synagogues and other places of worship throughout north central Alabama to spread the life-saving message of early detection and honor their communities’ survivors.  Groups are encouraged to make the day, or weekend, a celebration of survivors and co-survivors. Some groups host a special luncheon for survivors, encourage their congregation to wear pink, or invite survivors to speak about their experiences!

While the 2017 Worship in Pink Weekend is scheduled for September 30-October 1, groups are welcome to save their Worship in Pink event packet to use at any time during the year. Please note that due to the overwhelming popularity of this program, Worship in Pink event packets are first come-first served, are limited to one free packet per group, and can only be requested during the Worship in Pink Weekend registration period (September 1-October 15, 2017).

Participating organizations will receive a free Worship in Pink event kit which includes:

  • A Worship in Pink Ambassador toolkit containing a suggested script to use during services, a sample bulletin announcement, and programming guide. A fundraising guide is available online, the link can be found below.
  • 50 copies of the Susan G. Komen What is Breast Cancer? brochure and 50 Take Action bookmarks
  • Materials to make 50 pink ribbon pins
  • 50 exclusive Worship in Pink fans

**Please Note: By registering for the Worship in Pink Ambassador’s Kit, your group is agreeing to participate in an official Susan G. Komen North Central Alabama program and to present only Komen-approved breast health messaging during your Worship in Pink event. This includes the information presented by non-medical professional speakers who may speak during a Worship in Pink program that you host. If you would like to have a Komen-approved and trained speaker to participate in your event, please contact us at 205-263-1700 as soon as possible so that we may work to schedule one of our Komen Community Representatives for your event.**
